RECYCLING (mixed and paper & card): Kerbside recycling collections Service reinstated from Monday 30^th March 2020

Advice for residents: Present your recycling on your next scheduled collection day. A reasonable amount of extra recycling will be collected if presented loose in a reusable container (or cardboard box) on your next scheduled collection.

FOOD WASTE: The food recycling service is temporarily suspended.

Advice for residents: Food waste should be put into your general rubbish bin, which will be collected on your usual general rubbish collection day.

To help reduce waste put in the general rubbish bin, ​you can home compost: fruit and vegetable peelings, seeds and cores; egg shells; tea bags; coffee grounds and filter paper; paper towels or tissues (not if they have touched meat). You cannot compost: cooked food, fish, meat or dairy products (these must be put in your general rubbish bin).

GARDEN WASTE: The garden waste service has suspended.

Advice for residents: Garden waste materials are not hazardous if left for longer than two weeks and can be home-composted. Store this waste until the service resumes. Due to current social distancing measures, the Household Recycling Centres in Buckinghamshire are closed. Do not visit these sites to dispose of your garden waste.

GENERAL RUBBISH: The general rubbish service continues as business as usual. There are no current planned changes to collection frequencies or days.

All council car park charges and on-street parking restrictions have been lifted today across Buckinghamshire. 

The five existing councils have taken the unprecedented step to help support communities, key workers and volunteers during the Coronavirus outbreak.

The changes will mean all council car parks across the county will be completely free to use and all parking restrictions lifted. This includes parking on yellow lines, limited waiting areas and in pay and display bays. Residents permits will also be extended by a month. Restrictions on disabled parking will however remain in force.

Parking officers will continue patrolling the main routes, car parks, and residential areas to help deal with any obstructions to support emergency services, key workers, essential food deliveries and residents.

If any vehicle does cause an obstruction, officers will attempt to locate the owner via the permits database so that the vehicle can be moved to a safer place. If owners can’t be located, vehicles will be towed to the nearest safe position. This will only be used as a last resort and will be to relocate vehicles, not remove them completely.

The support is intended for those who have severe medical conditions, and who do not have access to family, friends or local support networks.

These hubs will be coordination and distribution points for Bucks Council’s networks – they are not ‘drop in’ centres for the public and will not be open to the general public.
